**Kynren is an outdoor show, so it is important that passengers bring appropriate clothing for the weather.**

Taking place on a vast landscaped stage with a huge lake at its centre hiding a host of surprises, you’ll meet many of the characters and events that have shaped England.  With 29 scenes encompassing the Roman occupation through to World War 2, history will unfold in front of your eyes, thanks to a cast and crew of almost 1,500 performing on a vast open-air stage.  The scale of the show must be seen to be believed.  Spectacular sets appear as if by magic, mass choreography and fierce battles are illuminated with dazzling special effects, effervescent lighting, and pyrotechnics, set to a spine-tingling original score that you’ll experience in movie-like surround sound.

Itinerary

Day 1

We make our way to the North East, visiting Beamish, the world-famous living museum of the north, on the way.  Here you step back in time to life in North East England during the 1820s, 1900s, 1940s, and 1950s.  Following our visit, we continue to Newcastle arriving at the Copthorne Newcastle Hotel.

(This hotel is in a brilliant location, right on Newcastle’s Quayside, and all rooms have river views.  Wetherspoons is just a few doors down!)

Award-wining Beamish Museum is a must-see part of any group visit to the North of England. Take a walk down an Edwardian cobbled street, try tasty food from times gone by and chat to our cheerful costumed engagers – there’s so much to discover!

Experience life as a Land Girl, explore the 1820s Landscape or have a go at fun 50s activities in the welfare hall.

Set within 400 beautiful acres, there’s something for everyone at Beamish

Day 2    Today we enjoy a day at leisure in Newcastle Upon Tyne.   Just a short walk from the hotel are bars, restaurants, and the famous Quayside where you can enjoy a river cruise on the Tyne.  The city centre isn’t far away either, with plenty of shopping and places to visit.  Back to the hotel for an early dinner before we depart to Bishop Auckland for Kynren – An Epic Tale of England.

Day 3    We make our way to Chillingham Castle – Britain’s most haunted historic castle.  A 13th Century, Grade 1 Star-listed stronghold in Northumberland, famed for action and battles.  With its fine rooms, gardens, lakes, fountains, and tea rooms, the castle has an extraordinary ownership bloodline which runs back to the 1200s.

We make our way back via Alnwick & Whitley Bay.

Day 4    Following a leisurely breakfast, we bid a fond farewell to Newcastle and begin our journey homeward.  On our way, we make a stop at the Black Sheep Brewery for a Tour & Tasting before continuing homeward.

Black Sheep  Our brewery tours will take you on a journey from the beginning of Black Sheep’s history, right through to the present day. You’ll also get a full insight into how our beers are made, and the unique techniques we use to create the perfect pint. The tour of our Yorkshire brewery starts with a short introduction video featuring Paul and Jo Theakston. You’ll then be shepherded into the brewhouse where you’ll experience the sights, sounds and – most importantly – the smells of a working brewery. As all tours should, your brewery tour will finish at the bar, with a beer tasting of some our award-winning brews.
